Tin foil over an iron to wax a snowboard?

I kinda need to wax my snowboard tonight or tomorrow night and i can’t buy a new iron and my mom doesn’t want me ruining her clothing iron soo i was wondering if it was safe or whatever to put a layer of tinfoil over the iron so i could still use it without getting it all waxy.. or if there’s any other methods i could use with house hold items to melt the wax onto my board.. thanks.

You can, but be careful, the edges will shred the foil.
You can get an inexpensive clothes iron for $10 at Walmart. I’ve been using the same one for 5 seasons. Lasted longer and worked better than my expensive wax iron.
